Timeline of Events


• April 1921 - Originally established as Camarines Sur Branch Library in April 1921

• 1941-1945 – Closed due to WWII

• April 1, 1946 – Library Reopens

• 1956 – Cam Sur Provincial Board concedes management to the City Government of Naga

• 1957 – 1958 – Library rents building along Barlin Street

• 1979 – NCPL moves to a building in front of Plaza Rizal

• 1983 – Bookmobile from the National Library is acquired

• 1996 – Becomes the only public library that provided internet services

• 2004 – NCPL moves to its current location

• 2005 – The NCPL is renamed the Raul S. Roco Library on Oct. 26, 2005, the late senator’s 64th birth anniversary
